Adrenal Fatigure – Supplements To Help Adrenal Fatigue

If you missed my first article on Adrenal Fatigue you can read it by going here.

Adrenal fatigue more and more is causing a negative impact on the lives of more and more people.  As the world becomes busier and busier and more and more we feel there is not enough time to get everything done our levels of stress are constant.

Along with constant elevated stress levels we often turn to high doses of caffeine, energy drinks (like Red Bull and Monster), couple this with pre workouts other stimulants our body is in constant elevated stress mode.

Cortisol is the by product of stress.  Cortisol is not a bad thing.  The issue with Adrenal Fatigue is your body’s in ability to cope with the CONSTANT Cortisol onslaught.  Your body is constantly battling high cortisol.

This makes our Adrenal’s work on over drive all the time, which leads to adrenal burnout.

In this blog post I will discuss 5 supplements that can help you with Adrenal Fatigue or Adrenal Burnout.

I highly suggest Charles Poliquins supplements for a few reasons.

I did Charles Poliquins Bio-Signature course and I learned more from him in  5 days than I did in 5 months on my own.  I was amazed. You can read about my experience at Bio-Sig by clicking HERE.

A few months ago I did a Adrenal Fatigue stack and I lost fat, built muscle and felt amazing.  I have been using pre workouts and high dose caffeine for about 15 years now so I am sure my adrenal’s had taking more of a beating than a a boxer after 12 rounds with Mike Tyson.

I highly recommend the Poliquin line for results and quality.

1. Wind Down

I have used this supplement for a few months now and I have to say I absolutely love it.

Wind Down is designed to help you calm down and relax.  Being self employed and very type A I don’t relax easily.

I know a lot of people that turn to alcohol to relax, but this will not solve any problems with cortisol or stress, it will only make it worse.

I use Wind Down about 2 hours before I plan to sleep to help me unwind.

“Wind Down 2.0 is formulated in a great-tasting chocolate chewable to help promote a feeling of calmness and relaxation during times of stress. This science-based formula features a clinically effective dosage of LactiumPure® – a patented, bioactive decapeptide- which research suggests promotes a healthy response to stress. In clinical studies, this unique ingredient was shown to boost the body’s ability to manage stress, which is important for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.”

2. Licorice Supreme

Sadly this is not the red sugary yummy licorice known as Twizzlers (Sorry I am a Twizzlers fan).

Licorice Supreme comes from LICORICE ROOT. I remember reading about Licorice Root many years ago when reading a lot on traditional asian supplements to increase calmness and overall health.  At the time there was hardly any available for me to purchase and most of the Licorice root you get from standard drug stores is poor quality.

Licorice Supreme serves to extend the half-life of cortisol, which helps with the problem of low morning energy stemming from levels of cortisol that are too low. By raising your morning cortisol to normal levels, in the afternoon and evening cortisol will drop, which will lower your stress and help you sleep better. This effect will also allow your other hormones to come into balance. This supplement can be combined with Yin Builder for a synergistic effect.”

Pantethine 2.0

When I first heard the benefits of Panethine I literally went out looking for it on my lunch break.

Also called pantothenic acid or vitamin B5, pantethine is an essential vitamin that plays a crucial role in your body’s ability to metabolize fats, create and release energy, as well as produce the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.

Eases Stress & Promotes HealingPantothenic acid appears to affect your adrenal glands, which is why it’s sometimes recommended for combating stress. A 1999 review of studies in Alternative Medicine Review concluded that pantethine was among the nutritional supplements that could help the body adapt to stress, reports the University of Maryland Medical Center. In a similar way, vitamin B5 supplements could help to promote wound healing, especially when they’re combined with vitamin C, according to a 1988 study in the International Journal of Vitamin & Nutrient Research. Talk with your physician prior to taking vitamin B5 or pantethine supplements to improve healing or ease stress.

Pantethine plays an important role in carbohydrate, protein, and fat metabolism, or break down.

Pantethine also led to increase coenzyme A, improve mitochondrial function, rescue brain degeneration, and increase lifespan.

Another interesting benefit to pantethine is that it can help with dopamine function.  Dopamine is a “feel good” hormone which can lead to overall feelings of happiness and improved mood concentration.

Pantethine might help to enhance sports performance, but no real medical evidence exists to support this claim, says the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Pantothenic acid and pantethine are sometimes promoted as performance-enhancing supplements, perhaps due to the vitamin’s effects on the adrenal glands, in metabolizing fats and carbohydrates and in creating proteins.

So after reading all this you can understand why I rushed to find the first Poliquin retailer I could and add Panethine to my supplement stack.

3. Phosphatidyl Serine

Another amazing supplement.  When I heard Charles talk about this I added to my list.  I had herd of Phosphatidyl Serine or PS as it’s called before.

When someone in our Bio-Sig class asked Charles this question it was rather funny.

“Charles PS might be good but it is really expensive!”

Charles amazing reply.

“So What”.

Point being that if you wnat something that is GOOD sometimes you have to pay for it.  Quality rarely comes cheap and Phosphatidyl Serine is one of those supplements that is not cheap and if you find it cheap more than likely it is fake or low quality. Don’t skimp on this Phosphatidyl Serine.

Phosphatidyl Serine benefits :

Helps the nervous system to calm down by diminishing sympathetic nervous activity.

Phosphatidyl Serine (PS) to improve brain function.

PS is a powerful but lesser known supplement that can significantly improve brain function because it regulates brain enzymes and hormone receptors. It’s also especially effective for minimizing cognitive decline that occurs with age

For a great read on the many benefits of Phosphatidyl Serine read THIS article by Charles Poliquin.

4. Basil Leaf (Holy Basil Leaf)

A proprietary blend of Ayurvedic herbs traditionally used as adaptogens that support the hypothalamicpituitary-adrenal axis and a healthy stress response. Holy Basil Supreme works to reset the neurotransmitter balance. It will also protect the body from the effects of both physical and chemical stress and will boost morning and afternoon energy.

  • Stress tolerance and management
  • Normalize cortisol levels
  • Healthy digestion
  • Improved energy
  • Toxin elimination
